Last weekend we stayed in Kilkenny, Ireland as part of a weekend-long holiday for a friends wedding. The city is approx. 2 hours from Dublin airport in a south-westerly direction and has the 16th largest population in Ireland.
The city is characterized by the large castle on the banks of the River Nore and St. Canice’s Cathedral which is visible for miles. Other notable features were the quantity of pubs (every other building), green (instead of red) letter boxes and that Magners cider was renamed Bulmers!
Definitely worth a Ryanair flight and weekend break away.
